Reflux Help.

Baby Sister!.

Trusting in God is not as easy at it may sound.  There were many times when I would look at Winter Hope and want so badly to make everything better for her.  The image of her scared little eyes looking at me for help, and me not being able to stop the pain and struggles, will forever be etched in my memory.  And yet, learning how to trust God through those times, has made those memories dear to my heart, despite the "terribleness" of it all:   for God had personally cared for me, the Mom, when I needed Him the most.

The first step in learning how to trust God, was in my realization that there was no hope for me outside of God's help and in His plan to save me from not only this life of sin, but also from an eternity, where I was doomed to an awful place called hell.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Trusting God with my life and even with my eternity, was relatively easy.  I believe what the Bible says about Jesus paying the price for my sins by dying and then rising from the dead.  I asked God to forgive me and then save me.  God makes it easy to trust Him for salvation.  He tells us even a child can understand!

Romans 10:9, 10  "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation."

God loves us very much.  ("For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.")  God wants the best for us, but He knows, because of sin, bad things happen.  He wants us to trust Him, trust His goodness, and trust His ways.  This is not always easy when all we can see is badness, but when we do learn to trust God, there is a peace and a calm that only God can provide that will fill our very being!

Proverbs 3:5  "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

So why is it so easy to trust God with my very life and salvation, and so very difficult to trust God with the life of my baby?

There were many nights where I would plead with God to allow me to keep Winter.  I remember standing often by her crib in tears, wondering if she would be with us the next day.  I couldn't sleep--so afraid I would miss that dreadful alarm or silent struggle.  Why couldn't I just trust God to watch her and rest in that?  The answer came, many months later, as  I learned more about the God I was learning to trust.

GOD LOVES US

We know that God loves us, because He provided us a way of salvation from our sin.

John 3:16  "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

I John 4:9  "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him."

John 15:13  "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay

   down his life for

     his friends.”

GOD IS GOOD

God is goodness.  There is nothing bad in Him nor in His ways.

Psalm 119:68  "Thou (God) art good, and doest good..."

Psalm 136:1 "O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good, for His mercy endureth forever."

Psalm 145:9  "The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works."

GOD'S WAYS ARE

NOT OUR WAYS

We don't always understand God's ways because they are higher than ours.  God knows what is best for us.  He sees things we don't see.

Isaiah 55:8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord."

Romans 11:33 "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!"

Now I was beginning to understand.  God only  wants what is best for me.  He loves me and He loves Winter Hope.  Trusting God with her can only bring peace.   Admittingly, I still have moments of decision to make in which I must again place Winter fully in His Hands and trust my God with her.  Every time she chokes, or struggles with the reflux through the night, my heart wants to grab her back and hold her tight.  God is there.  God is in control.  I am daily learning to trust Him,   knowing that whatever He allows, He will be there for me and He will help me, guide me, comfort me, and ultimately provide me with what I need--no matter what happens.

Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

                     by Louisa M. R. Stead

'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,

Just to take Him at His Word,

Just to rest upon His promise,

Just to know, "Thus saith the Lord."

Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!

How I've proved Him o'er and o'er!

Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!

O for grace to trust Him more!

I'm so glad I've learned to trust Thee,

Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend.

And I know that Thou art with me,

Wilt be with me to the end.

I Just Keep Trusting My Lord

                            -author unknown

I just keep trusting my Lord, as I walk along,

I just keep trusting my Lord, and He gives a song

Though the storm clouds darken the sky

O'er the heavenly trail,

I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail.

He's a faithful friend, Such a faithful friend,

I can count on Him, to the very end!

Though the storm clouds darken the sky

O'er the heavenly trail,

I just keep trusting my Lord, He will never fail!

How Can I Fear?

                              -author unknown

When shadows fall, and the night covers all,

There are things that my  eyes cannot see.

I'll never fear, for the Savior is near,

My Lord abides with me.

How can I fear?  Jesus is near;

He ever watches over me,

Worries all cease; He gives me peace,

How can I fear with Jesus?

Jesus is King, He controls everything.

He is with me each night and each day.

I trust my soul to the Savior's control

He drives all fear away.

Another aspect of trust....meet Winter's baby brother, now in heaven (a heart breaking "mis"carriage)
